Celebrate Dr. King Explore the Dream Through Art
January 16
Express Yourself Studios; located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will host its annual “Celebrate Dr. King: Explore the Dream Through Art” workshop. Children ages 4-12 are welcome to learn about Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement through art. Children will create art exploring the themes of Peace, Equality and Friendship.
All participants are asked to bring a canned or boxed non-perishable food item to be donated to the Wallace Chapel Food Pantry (a service of Wallace Chapel Church) in Summit, NJ. The workshop fee is $15, one hour of studio time and all materials included. Join us any time between 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Winter Break Art Workshop,
February 17 – 24
Express Yourself Studios; located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will host a Winter Break Art Workshop February 17-24, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm for children age 5-12. Participants will create paintings using a mix of mediums (acrylics, watercolor, and pastels) and other projects using a myriad of materials (clay & paper collages). We’ll be inspired by artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Paul Cezanne, Georgia O’Keeffe and many others. All materials are included, 3-hours of studio time. Workshop Fee: $150 for the week or $45 per child/per day.

Express Yourself Studios’ Summer Art Workshop Enrollment
January 1- March 31
Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has begun its Summer Art Workshop 2012 enrollment. The Summer Art Workshop program is open to children ages 5-12. Participants will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Attendees are encouraged to use their imagination freely as they learn about Master Artists. The Summer Workshop runs June 25 – August 24.
Workshop attendees will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist.. The 2012 9-week schedule includes the following artists: Alma Woodsey Thomas, Henri Matisse, Keith Haring, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Diego Rivera, Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso and Georgia O'Keeffe.
Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache (relative to the artists). An exhibition and reception featuring students' artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will host "Family Fun Night of Art" every Saturday 4:00pm-6:00pm at Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood. Families join us for 2-hours of studio time, one (1) guided art project, pizza, beverages and all materials required to facilitate the workshop.
The workshop fee is $20 per person (4 or more participants the workshop fee is $15 per guest.) To join “Family Fun Night of Art” register 2-3 days in advance. Everyone leaves with a frame-worthy piece of artwork.

Express Yourself Studios, located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood offers a Media Mix workshop Wednesday evenings 4:30pm - 5:30pm. This engaging and dynamic program is perfect for the child age 4-7 who wants to learn many art techniques, while creating diverse and imaginative projects.
Each student will create different, unique and individualized art pieces through a variety of themes and subject matter. Projects will include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, clay and numerous mixed media-based concepts, using an array of fun and tactile materials and techniques suited to each age group.
